In the future, the Charles Whitman: The Case for TBI YouTube channel will explore various topics involving traumatic brain injury to help bring awareness to the subject and foster knowledge and understanding.

Increased aggression and violence can be consequences of traumatic brain injury for many possible reasons.

From Charles Whitman: Up Against All Odds:

Increased aggression is a common, burdening and sometimes dangerous behavioral outcome experienced by brain injured patients, thus often researched. Numerous physical correlations have been found between this response and the severity of TBIs experienced, accelerated age-related thinning of the cerebral cortex (outer layer of gray matter) due to repeated injuries, inflammation, damage to inhibitory structures and controls and biochemical alterations. Progressive neurodegeneration from repeated mild TBIs and diseases that are believed to be triggered from multiple head traumas, such as CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), are also linked.
